====== How to create a YouTube user name ======

===== If you do not have a Google ID =====

  * Click on the "Create Account" button\\ {{:youtube:new_to_youtube.jpg|Create a YouTube Account button}}
  * Create a Google account\\ {{ :youtube:google_user_name.png?nolink |Google User Name}}\\ Note that your Google user name may not be the same as your YouTube ID.
  * At the profile confirmation screen, click on the "Next Step" button to continue\\ {{:youtube:how_youll_appear_next_step.jpg?|YouTube how you will appear selection}}
  * You're all set -- but not so fast. Click the "Back to YouTube" button \\ {{ :youtube:03_youre_all_set.png?nolink |You're all set}}
  * Click on your name in the upper right to see the selections\\ {{:youtube:youtube_name_link.jpg|YouTube name link}}
  * Click on the "My channel" link\\ {{:youtube:my_channel_link.jpg|YouTube My channel link}}
  * Click on the "OK, I'm ready to continue" button\\ {{:youtube:ok_im_ready_to_continue.jpg|OK I'm ready to continue button}}
  * Click on your name in the upper right again, and click on the "YouTube settings" link\\ {{:youtube:youtube_settings_link.jpg|YouTube settings link}}
  * Under "Account Information", click on the "Advanced" link\\ {{:youtube:account_information_advance.jpg|Account Information, Advanced link}}
  * In the "Advanced" settings, under "Channel settings", click "Create username"\\ {{:youtube:channel_settings_create_user_name.jpg|Create user name}}
  * In the user name form, enter a user name. Make a note of this or copy it! This is the user name that you will submit to St. Mary's.
  * Check the box that says "I understand that my channel will be renamed," and click the "Create Username" button\\ {{:youtube:18_create_username.png|Create Username form}}

===== If you already have a Google ID =====

  * After signing in with your Google ID, you'll see this screen. Click on your user name to contiune.\\ {{ :youtube:12_you_are_now_registered.png?nolink |You are now registered}}
  * In the expanded pane, click on "My channel" to continue.\\ {{ :youtube:13_click_on_my_channel.png?nolink |My channel}}
  * Choose your options and then click "OK, I'm ready to continue".\\ {{ :youtube:14_ok_im_ready_to_continue.png?nolink | OK I'm ready to continue}}
  * You have added a channel to your account. But note that you have not chosen a YouTube ID!\\ {{ :youtube:you_have_added_a_channel.png?nolink |You have added a channel}}
