What to do when content you need is erroneously blocked
As with the internet filter (and for the same reasons), we will find there is YouTube content that is not available via the Education portal which should be. How best to proceed then is determined by the answer to this question: Is it content that a teacher needs access to once, but is not of general educational benefit, or is it content that is of benefit to the entire school?
One-time access to content:
Teachers can create accounts for themselves on YouTube – YouTube accounts. If the teachers inform IT of the account user name (user name only, no passwords, please!), we can add the account to a permitted list for the school. Please register your YouTube account here.
Then when the teacher logs into YouTube (not the filter override page – logs into YouTube with their YouTube account) he will have full access to YouTube content.
